Position Title: Associate Research Scientist

Precision for Medicine Laboratory Services offers like-minded professionals the opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects through assay development, validation and execution. We specialize in high complexity, multiplex immunofluorescence detection using a state-of-the-art image analysis to address complex questions regarding frequency of cell populations for immuno-oncology applications. We offer a rare integrated platform, built to work with tumor tissue to generate both phenotypic and genomic information from the same biopsy sample.

You will participate in flow cytometry projects through assay development, validation, and execution. You will be performing assays according to SOPs and supporting development of new procedures and will be able to improve existing SOPs. Do you want to make a difference? Your work at Precision for Medicine will include:

  • Perform Flow cytometry primarily, as well as, other immune assays
  • Design and perform experiments, independently and accurately analyze and present data
  • Work collaboratively with other technical teams in resource sharing and providing technical expertise; act as a scientific resource to internal and external clients
  • Produce high quality output that is essential to build efficiency into improving productivity metrics
  • Identify, update and implement emerging laboratory techniques; troubleshoot and correct routine scientific issues/problems
  • Assist with writing, reviewing and editing contract and grant applications/proposals as appropriate
  • Write and publish papers, abstracts, techniques/or chapters to maintain the scientific standard and image of the company; present completed work at appropriate scientific meetings and in publications

Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years related lab experience; or
  • Master’s Degree with 2 years related lab experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a concentration in Biology, Chemistry or Life Sciences

Other Required:

  • Expert level flow cytometry skills using both whole blood and isolated cells
  • Proven skills in monitoring cell-mediated immunity through flow cytometry, as well as, ELISpot, ELISA, and/or MSD
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required
  • Organize and analyze data, as well as, prepare reports
  • Possess strong computational skills, preferably experienced with Word, Excel, Power Point, GraphPad Prism, Diva, and Flowjo
  • Excellent use of judgement and discretion required
  • Flexibility to work extended hours may be necessary on occasion in order to meet business demands
  • The ability to see and differentiate between colors on the full color spectrum
  • Ability to lift and carry between 1-15 lbs.; frequently required to sit, grasp, and use right/left finger dexterity; May be exposed to a cold freezer environment (Freezer temperatures range between -20ºC -196ºC)
  • Able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English language

Preferred:

  • A deep understanding of current GLP or CAP/CLIA/ISO standards
  • Proven skills with assays used for immunophenotyping such as ELISpot, primary cell based assays, ELISA, and/or Mesoscale multi-plexed cytokine analysis
  • Experience with various cell sorting techniques
