Position Summary

The Market Access Writer is responsible for writing market access content and developing content ideas for a wide range of deliverables in conjunction with internal teams. This position will support the creation of custom market access training for clients, as well as Precision off-the-shelf market access training modules

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Write accurate, engaging, effective, and streamlined training or promotional materials in print or digital format for pharmaceutical industry clients across a range of market access topics/trends
    • Example topics include medical benefit, pharmacy benefit, “buy and bill”, specialty pharmacy, distribution, 340B, pricing and reimbursement, and health information technology
    • Content may be unbranded or branded
  • Clearly communicate market access information to internal teams, external resources, and customers
  • Contribute market access knowledge to cross-functional project design and development conversations to craft effective solutions for customers
  • Write content outlines and manuscripts for digital and print materials
  • Write clearly and concisely with a conversational voice
  • Create PowerPoint slide decks with placeholder graphics
  • Provide clear instructions to creative teams for visual presentation of information and supporting graphics
  • Conduct literature searches and cite reliable references that support the accuracy of content and provide source documentation
  • Write to the standards, format, and requirements of our clients and internal teams
  • Provide drafts that are current, accurate, well-referenced, and editorially clean requiring minimal revisions
  • Effectively present ideas, speaking clearly and confidently
  • Support the team in the medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) review process, by referencing and annotating appropriate content, answering all queries from the MLR review committee, and understanding and implementing the required changes
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with cross-functional teams, such as account management, project management, creative, and training teams
  • Establish trust, reliability, and professional relationships with clients and internal partners
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of market access concepts and policies
  • Ability to accurately interpret market access topics/trends, distill complex content, and communicate it clearly and effectively based on the audience
  • Ability to apply creative, visual thinking and design to training deliverables
  • Working knowledge of the AMA Manual of Style
  • Ability to collaborate and proactively communicate with a project team to ensure quality deliverables and that deadlines are met
  • Ability to attend virtual meetings with project team and clients
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in making defensible judgment calls and communicating professionally with consideration and diplomacy
  • Comfort and skill communicating with clients and maintaining great working relationships

Qualifications

Minimum Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 2+ years’ experience writing market access content for pharmaceutical industry clients
  • Strong market access background and understanding of the current managed markets landscape, including all relevant stakeholders
  • Familiarity with MLR review processes within the pharmaceutical industry

Other Required:

  • Previous pharmaceutical marketing/advertising agency experience (3 years)
  • Working knowledge of managed markets

  • Demonstrated ability to produce engaging, effective, and targeted content that is editorially clean and require minimal edits
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
